About the lighthouse:

Built in 1858 in Frankfort, Michigan, Point Betsie was the last lighthouse on the mainland to be served by a keeper. Betsie's main purpose was to mark the turning point into the Manitou Passage. The 37-foot tower is attached to the Keeper's house, which was greatly expanded in 1893. Overall lamp height is 24".
